- WHAT IS THE LATEST TIME I CAN EAT CHAMETZ EREV PESACH?

- WHAT IS THE LATEST TIME TO BURN MY CHAMETZ ON FRIDAY?

Latest time to burn chametz is 12:30 pm

- WHERE CAN I BURN MY CHAMETZ?

Back and with all new and improved pyrotechnics!

Randy Shaw will be burning Chametz at the shul on Friday morning April 19th from after Shacharis 7:45 am until 11:30 am

- IS THERE STILL TIME TO SELL MY CHAMETZ?

Yes! You have until 10:00 am Friday morning April 19th to sell through the shul. You may download a Sale of Chametz form by clicking here Forms can be emailed or brought into the shul office or placed in our mailbox.

- WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT TRASH DISPOSAL?

You should not have chametz in the trash on your property after 12:30 pm on Friday. That could be challenging, because Dunwoody trash pick-up is on Wednesday, and after that, you may not place trash with chametz in your bins.

- HOW CAN ARIEL HELP WITH THAT?

A very special thank you to Susan Weinstein, Jeff Segel and M and M Waste, who will again be donating a dumpster for our use prior to Pesach.

The dumpster will be in the Ariel Admin parking lot from Wednesday April 17th to noon on Friday April 19th.

VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE

ONLY typical household trash containing chametz may be deposited in the dumpster.

Absolutely NO large items and NO flammable items

NO furniture, appliances, tires, batteries, propane tanks, TV's, chemicals, hazardous waste, liquid waste, wet paint, automobile fluids, biomedical waste, PCM waste, oil filters, solvents, thinners, lacquers, asbestos, and infectious waste.

NO Freon-loaded items: refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifies, etc. and flammables.

(Last year, paint cans that were placed in the dumpster caused a fire to erupt. Let's show our gratitude to M and M Waste by respecting their request).

- WHEN CAN I EAT CHAMETZ AGAIN AFTER YOMTOV?

Before you savor that slice of pizza or scoop of ice cream, please note: Yom tov ends at 8:58 pm on Saturday, April 27th and it is permitted to eat chametz after that time. However, chametz you have sold through Rabbi Friedman will only be available by 10:00 pm as the Rabbi needs about an hour to buy back the chametz.

- I AM A FIRST-BORN SON, OR HAVE A PRE-BARMITZVAH AGE FIRST-BORN SON: WHAT ARE MY/HIS OBLIGATIONS?

A first-born son would normally be required to fast Erev Pesach; however, that obligation may be fulfilled by participating in a Siyum.

  1. Ariel Siyum will take place after first Shacharis on Friday morning, April 19th at 7:20 AM. This year the Siyum will be sponsored by Hugh and Zach Mainzer (both first-born sons!), who will be making a Siyum that morning on Masechta Brachos. Mazeltov to the Mainzers!

If you are unable to attend a siyum, please contact the Rabbi for instructions.

- WILL THERE BE KIDDUSH OR SEUDAH SHLISHIT AT SHUL ON PESACH?

Our shul kitchen will be closed and we will not have kiddush or Seudah Shlishit on Shabbos, April 20th or Shabbos, April 27th.

- WILL THERE BE YOUTH GROUPS ON YOMTOV?

There will be no youth groups during Pesach.

- WILL THE OFFICE BE OPEN DURING CHOL HAMOED?

We will be closed, but while we may be "out of sight", we will not be "out of mind". If you need to reach us, please email (preferred) or call the shul office as we will be checking voice and emails regularly.
